ABOUT ABOUT

Join us for a 3-hour workshop on Sunday May 10, 2020 from 1-4PM (EST). A ZOOM Online Workshop in the comfort of your own home:

Mother's Day Flower Painting

For Mother's Day we've put together a special workshop for you to share with your Mom. Quin Stone, artist and PAFA Alumni, will lead a Flower Painting Workshop. Take out your oil paints or acrylics and join us for an afternoon of painting. This workshop is a wonderful gift and a great way to spend some quality time with your Mother, especially if you are not able to visit her.

And if you are a Mom, ask for 3 peaceful hours of creating as a Mother's Day gift! Of course, non-Moms and flower lovers of any persuasion are also welcome!

How Will It Work?

You will follow along step-by-step with Quin as he plans the composition, mixes colors and paints the floral image. We will work from a photograph so you can refer to it as well as the live painting on ZOOM. We will provide the image to you so you can print it before the class if you want to. We find that using a desktop work station or a laptop gives you more ZOOM viewing options and results in a better class experience.

Supplies List: This is a loose list. Use what you have for this workshop. We'll get more serious after quarantine!

Any size of stretched canvas, canvas board or canvas paper.

A small assortment of brushes: 1 small round tip bristle brush, 1 medium size flat tip bristle brush, 1 larger rounded brush for background work OR whatever you have around the house!

Oil Paint or Acrylic colors. The names of your colors don't matter so much for this short workshop. If you haven't got the exact colors listed below try to get white, black, red, blue. yellow, brown and green.

If you have paint, these are colors we usually use in our workshops: Titanium White, Lemon Yellow, Cadmium Red Hue, Ultramarine Blue, Viridian Hue, Crimson Alizarin, Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, Raw Umber and Ivory Black.

Disposable Palette Paper Pad or paper plates to mix paint on.

Plastic Cups or containers for your solvent.

Solvents: For oil paint-turpentine or mineral spirits. For acrylics-water.

A couple of small rags or paper towels for cleaning little messes.

The cost of the 3-hour workshop is $30.00. Once you register you will receive Zoom Meeting Information in the pop-up Thank You message. Look for it and copy it for your reference.
