This is a 12-week free workshop based on The Artist’s Way: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity, Julia Cameron's seminal book on the subject of creativity and the process of discovering and recovering the creative self.
The Artist's Way is an international bestseller that millions of artists, actors, writers, and creators of all kinds have found to be an invaluable guide to living the artist’s life. Still as vital today as it was when it was first published in 1992.
Starting as a collection of tips and hints from different artists and authors, The Artist's Way was collected into a single book and self published by Julia Cameron for maximizing the creativity and productivity of artists. it is a powerfully provocative and inspiring work.
When I moved to Philadelphia 15 years ago I joined an Artist's Way Meetup Group and met some of the most interesting and inspiring people I know, who have acheived amazing goals they had set for themselves. I also made a few great friends through that group. It was an experience that has stayed with me and shaped my life in many ways. I have always wanted to revisit The Artist's Way and share it with a new group of people.
To give you an idea of what the program entails here is a link from Amazon to the Table of contents of the book. While everyone may have unique creative goals, whether it is visual arts, writing, beginning a new business, or some other type of creative process, this program is appropriate for anyone striving to tap into their creative mind and move forward with ideas, projects and goals.

For me, the goal is to build a creative space, Studio 1940, where I can breathe some life back into my stagnant art practice, while creating a place of community with like-minded people who may have similar goals. I love to brainstorm with and feed off of the energy of a "salon-style" gathering (at the risk of sounding elitist!)
If The Artist's Way group sounds like something you would like to participate in, register now. If you are looking to energize your creative practice and acheive some of your goals with the support of other creatives, then join us. I have space for 10 people and the calendar looks like we could go straight through for 12 weeks before the Holidays.
This group is on Tuesdays from 7-8:30 from September 24th - December 10th.
Here's a link to one of Julia Cameron's Blog Posts that I found particularly interesting.
